Becca Katz

Instigator of Awesomeness,

Co-Director, & Co-Founder

Becca has been a nature-based educator for over two decades, most recently working in Lake County School District and Get Outdoors Leadville! to develop a K-12 NBL progression, retool and design systems to support NBL, and implement professional development workshops for educators to add NBL to their teaching craft.

She partnered with Erin to launch Good Natured Learning because she has seen the benefits of nature-based learning for student and educator wellbeing. She loves how something so simple – from bringing more plants into your classroom to teaching students in nearby nature – can yield such profound effects like improved baseline wellness and increased engagement in learning.

Becca adores connecting with people to talk about almost anything, especially about NBL. Please reach out! becca@goodnaturedlearning.org

Erin Allaman

Gardener of Good Ideas,

Co-Director, & Co-Founder

Erin has been curious about "nearby nature" since she started leading friends around her Denver-metro neighborhood to climb trees as a kid.

Her work in education has spanned sailing courses with Thompson Island Outward Bound, project-based teaching as a 7th grade social studies teacher, youth participatory action research projects, and service as an Associate Professor of Education for Colorado Mountain College's Teacher Education program.

She values positive youth development and believes that schools should be healthy and joyful places for students and teachers. Teaming up with Becca has set her on a journey to help teachers and schools include nature in routine school experiences.

You can reach Erin at erin@goonaturedlearning.org.  Let's connect!
