Desert Mountain Medicine

Wilderness Medicine Certification Courses for Educators


Who is it for? Pk-12 Teachers who want additional skills for teaching students in outdoor settings or to teach Wilderness Medicine Courses to high school students.

What will you do?

Wilderness First Aid Certificate (WFA):

Earn a WFA certificate in a 3-day Wilderness First Aid Course designed for educators. 

Collaborate with colleagues to explore high quality outdoor teaching strategies.

Gain skills for increased safety and risk management.

Wilderness First Aid Instructor course (WFA-ITC)

Gain certification to teach WFA courses in a 4-day course with other educators. 

Be part of the state-wide initiative to offer WFA certifications to high school students.

Brains on Nature Fellowship

Year-long paid fellowship with Retreat

Who is it for? Pk-12 Educators (Teachers, Counselors, Administrators) who are you ready to be part of a professional community of Nature-Based Learning Champions across the state.

Attend a 5-day nature retreat experience in July 2023

Explore the theory and practice of Nature-Based Learning (NBL)
